VitalRelay Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 9, 2026
VitalRelay (the “App”) exports Apple Health data that you authorize the App to read as JSON files to a folder you choose.
Data the App Handles
The App may read only the following Apple Health data after you grant permission in iOS:
- Activity: steps, walking and running distance, and active energy
- Vitals: heart rate, resting heart rate, oxygen saturation, and body temperature
- Body measurements: body mass, height, and body fat percentage
- Sleep analysis
- Workouts
Where applicable, exported JSON includes a record identifier, data type, start and end times, value, unit, source, workout type, and deletion information. The App does not write data to Apple Health.
How Your Data Is Used
Apple Health data is processed only to create JSON files and reflect later changes as incremental updates. The App does not use health data for advertising, marketing, tracking, profiling, or sale.
Processing and Storage
Apple Health data retrieval, JSON generation, and synchronization state management take place on your device. The App does not upload exported data to a server operated by the developer, and the developer cannot access your exported Apple Health data.
JSON files are saved to a folder you explicitly select using the standard Files interface. If that folder is provided by an external storage service, that provider processes, stores, and synchronizes the files under its own terms and privacy policy. The App does not automatically switch to a destination you did not select.
Third-Party Services
The App does not include advertising, third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or developer-operated cloud services. Apple Health and the Files framework are provided by Apple as part of iOS. A File Provider you select may be operated by another company.
Automatic Export
If you enable automatic export, the App receives Apple Health update notifications and exports changes. iOS may delay execution or combine multiple updates. You can turn off automatic export in the App at any time.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Exported JSON files remain in your selected folder until you delete them using Files or the relevant storage provider.
- The App keeps synchronization state and unsent export data on your device. Removing the App deletes this app-local data.
- Removing the App does not delete JSON files already exported outside the App. Delete those files from the selected destination when needed.
Permissions and Withdrawal
To review or change Apple Health access, open your profile in the Health app, select “Apps” under “Privacy,” and choose VitalRelay. To stop automatic export, turn it off in VitalRelay.
Children
The App is not designed to collect personal information from children through a developer-operated service. The App does not operate such a service.
